Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages you to embrace your thoughts and emotions without judgment, rather than trying to avoid or suppress them. This therapy helps you develop psychological flexibility, meaning you can choose to act in ways that align with your values, even when difficult emotions arise. In our sessions, we’ll work on building mindfulness skills to help you stay present, and identify your core values to guide your decisions. The goal is to empower you to take meaningful action, even in the face of discomfort, so you can lead a life that’s true to who you are. It’s not about eliminating pain, but about finding peace with it and moving forward with purpose.

Issues that can be helped:

  • Trauma

  • Workplace stress

  • Chronic pain

  • Emotional disconnect

  • Life transitions (parenthood, career changes, etc.)

  • Anxiety and depression
